Literacy Programme
The literacy programme is designed to assist adults and out of school youths attain a degree of literacy that would allow them to function effectively in the Seychellois society. The programme consists of courses in the three national languages: Creole, French, English and Maths. These are held free of charge for Seychellois citizens.
Who is the Literacy programme intended for?
The Adult Literacy programme is intended for:
- Adults who did not fully benefit from the basic education programmes.
- Adults and out of school youths who may have completed their compulsory education programme but still need to acquire basic literacy and numeracy skills.
What are the subjects within Literacy programme?

English Maths
A subject is comprised of 3 levels (Level 1, 2, 3). The level 1course is the core course and the level 3 is the advance course of the programme.
How is a candidate certified?
At the completion of each level the candidate sits for an examination. Local certificates are awarded to the successful candidates.
